Cat Boarding in Wilmington, NC
On the opposite end of our building from all the
dog boarding and play is our serene cat room where your favorite feline can spend their day gazing out the big window, lying in the warmth of the sun, staring down the reception staff, and climbing the cubbies. We provide two cat boarding options for cats in the Wilmington, NC area:
All cats are provided a bed, dishes, and meals to meet the guests’ needs. Each guest will get a minimum of an hour of individual time in the cat room for exploring, playing, or lounging. Cats who are in the same household may be let out together.
Our staff is trained to administer only oral and/or topical medications. Should your cat need any injectable medication or treatments (either subcutaneous or intramuscular), they must board at Paws & Claws Animal Hospital.
Cat Towers
Cat Towers are the luxury cat boarding option that stand 6ft tall and are 2.5ft square with four deck levels to choose from, one of those being a private “bathroom” compartment at the bottom.
Cat Condos are efficiency apartments with a shelf as well as a private “bathroom” compartment on the side.

Cat Diggs Policies
- To keep our diggs flea-free, all pets will be given a Capstar upon arrival.
- All feline guests must be current on FVRCP (Feline “Distemper”) and Rabies.
- Cats who are showing active signs of upper-respiratory infection will not be allowed to board.
- We encourage our guests to come with their own food to minimize the risk of GI distress during their stay.
- The Diggs requests you provide your pet's food labeled, with directions, in a sealed plastic storage container.
- Due to human and pet health risks we cannot handle or feed raw-food diets, including freeze-dried versions, at our diggs.
- Senior cats who are having difficulty with balance and/or jumping will only be permitted to stay in our cat condos.
- If your pet needs preventive care or routine medical needs during their stay at The Diggs, please contact Paws & Claws Animal Hospital to schedule an appointment and inform them your pet will be at our facility. Paws & Claws will then coordinate with us to bring your pet over at that time.
- Each guest is required to have an emergency contact and pickup person. This is particularly important during hurricane season (June 1 – November 30), as we cannot predict inclement weather and cannot require our staff to stay if there has been an evacuation notice for New Hanover County.
